SWAP Internal Audit Services is an independent, not for profit internal audit company dedicated to improving the efficiency and productivity of public sector organisations. Drawing on a highly skilled workforce, as well as the shared expertise of our extensive local government partnerships, we have experience working for a wide range of clients based across the UK.

Dedicated to improving the standard of corporate governance, risk management and internal control systems for partners and clients across the country, SWAP provides a professional, cost-effective and high-quality internal audit service based on a sound understanding of organisations’ business needs and objectives. The scale of the opportunity is limitless and we now need an ambitious, forward-thinking business leader to further realise our ambition and take us to the next level…

In an exciting and unique role as the Chief Executive of SWAP, you will provide credible leadership of the organisation, shaping, developing and implementing the corporate strategy and ensuring that the correct governance is in place for this expanding company.  As an ambassador for SWAP Internal Audit Services, you will utilise your highly effective commercial intuition to strengthen the financial viability of the company by identifying future opportunities for new income streams, working with senior representatives across the public and private sectors at local, regional and national levels.

To undertake this challenging and rewarding role with a significant and diverse brief, we require a leader with a proven track record as an experienced and qualified internal audit leader, with extensive business leadership, evidencing commercial acumen and significant income generation.  You will have the ability to build and sustain effective relationships at a senior level with a wide range of stakeholders.  High levels of political nous and an understanding of local government will also be essential for this senior role.  Leading and managing an established team, you will be able to demonstrate innovative, visible and exemplary leadership, driving forward improvement in our services, within the context of a challenging background.

Proven successful and consistent achievement in the leadership of relevant functions at senior management level, within a private company, local authority or other organisation of comparable scope and complexity is essential.
